UHF Active RFID, is the name used to define the wireless systems which are working actively in UHF band by using their own power source for operation & communication. UHF Active RFID systems contains UHF Active RFID tags & sensors as well as UHF Active RFID Readers & Antennas. In general, there exists different types of Active RFID systems operating in 433 Mhz, 866 Mhz & 2.4 Ghz empowering different standards and protocols such ISO 18000-7, IEE 802.15.4f and other custom proprietary protocols. Since UHF Active RFID Tags contains a power source for operation & use radio waves for communication only, they had much more communication range as compared to Passive RFID counterparts. There exists different kind of UHF Active RFID systems in terms of dimensions, form factor and features, but in general the tags used in Active RFID have large form factor as compared to Passive RFID tags.
